Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you're asking that question, something in you is already answering it. I don't diagnose need. What I do know is that most people who find their way to me have been carrying something for a long time and are quietly ready to put some of it down.
-
That's actually one of the best places to start from. You don't need a reason or to have it figured out before you arrive. (It’s a bit like trying to get fit before you go to the gym…) The body knows what it's ready for even when the mind hasn't caught up yet.
-
If you're not sure, start with the Deep Dive. It brings everything together and gives us the most space to work with what's present. If you'd like a recommendation specific to what you're carrying, get in touch before booking and we'll figure it out together.
-
Fair enough. $222 is real money. So is carrying what you've been carrying for another five years.
I'm not for everyone and I don't want to be. If it's not the right time financially, that's okay. If it's fear dressed up as a budget concern, then hmmmmm
Plus no one can do what I do, they way I do it :) -
Yes. Get in touch before booking and we'll sort something out. I'd rather find a way to make it work than have that be the thing that stops you.
-
You sure can! Get in touch directly and we'll sort it out.

Inherited Release Method is a body-led healing session that works with what you've been carrying — from your own life, your whanau, your lineage. Before we meet I connect with your energy and run a kinesiology chart so we already know what your body is pointing toward before the session begins. We don't dig for stories or retell the past. We follow what is already moving and work with what the body is ready to release.
Fun fact: I was the first certified IRM practitioner in Aoteroa, New Zealand -
Te Rau Aroha is a traditional Maori healing practice that works through the mauri of kawakawa. It moves through the tinana (body), wairua (spirit) and hinengaro (mind) as one living system. It's gentle, cellular and nothing is forced. Kawakawa meets what is present and works with it in its own way.
You don't need to understand it fully before you arrive.
-
Yes 100%. Energy doesn't need you in the same room. I've been doing this online since I started and the work is just as effective. People have significant releases in online sessions regularly. If you're skeptical, yay! I love skeptics — book one and find out for yourself.
When you consider that everything is energy, then why wouldn’t it work? -
Online sessions — yes, always. I'd be questioning your practitioner if they asked otherwise.
In-person sessions are a little different. For Te Rau Aroha Alignment - Te Pou Tuara to be exact, the top half will need to be unclothed as kawakawa leaves are placed directly on the skin along the spine. All other in-person sessions are done fully clothed. -
Nothing. Just show up on time.
-
Always. You are in complete control of what happens in any session with me. Nothing continues without your consent and you never need to explain or justify stopping. Your boundaries are not an inconvenience here — they're part of how this works safely. If something feels like too much, we slow down or we stop. Full stop.
-
That depends entirely on what you're carrying and what your body is ready to release.
Some people have one session. Others come back regularly.
I won't tell you that you need more sessions than you do. That's not how I operate.
I’ve been known to cancel and refund bookings for peeps that are coming back too soon between sessions. -
Nothing. We're moving away from expectations. Trust that what needs to arise will. Give yourself 3 to 7 days — sometimes more — to process, integrate and recalibrate. You've just released some long stored stuff and your body, mind and wairua need time to get used to the new space you've created. Don't be in a hurry to fill it.
-
Congratulations!
Your body finally felt safe enough to release what it's been holding. All of you is welcome here — tears, movement, coughing, yawning, swearing, throwing up, absolute stillness. I've seen it all. Nothing that comes up will surprise or unsettle me. Just let it move.
-
Yes. I follow up within 3 days of your session to see how you're doing. If you have questions specific to what came up in session, I'm here for that. If new things have surfaced that you want to explore — that's a new session.
-
Once you've booked you'll receive a confirmation email with everything you need — the Zoom link if it's online, what to expect, and any other relevant details. If you have questions before we meet, you're welcome to get in touch. Otherwise just turn up and we go from there
-
Zoom. You'll receive the link in your confirmation email after booking.
-
Life happens. Just give me as much notice as you can. Details are in the terms and conditions at the bottom of the site.
-
Yes, parking is available.
-
Bay of Islands, Northland, NZ. It's a fixed location but I do have the ability to travel. Get in touch if you'd like me to come to your town and we'll have a korero about it.
-
I sure do. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming announcements.
-
No. I'm not a therapist, psychologist or counsellor and I don't work as one. What I offer sits within Maori models of health and healing. If you're currently working with a mental health professional, what we do here can sit alongside that — they're not the same thing and they don't conflict. If you're in crisis or need clinical support, please reach out to a professional who can provide that.
-
Absolutely. A number of people who sit with me are also working with a therapist or counsellor. The two sit alongside each other well — they're doing different things. If you're unsure, have a conversation with your therapist and feel free to get in touch with me too.
-
Honestly? I'm not entirely sure I can explain it in a way that will fully make sense. Some of it is training and practice. A lot of it is wairua and the way I was raised. I read what the body is holding and broadcasting — energetically, physically, spiritually. I've always been able to see and sense things others don't. I've just learned to trust it and work with it rather than question it.
-
I'm not selling a methodology or a framework or a course I bought from someone overseas. The way I work and see in this space is grounded in whakapapa, lived experience and genuine practice — my own and my ancestors'. I'm not performing healing.
I won’t tell you what you want to hear. I don't have a script and I couldn’t give a shit if you don’t book. -
No and no. My practice is grounded in Te Ao Māori (The Māori worldview) ways of understanding health and wellbeing which are inherently spiritual in nature. You don't need to hold any particular belief system to benefit from this work. You just need to be open enough to show up.
-
Yes. Plenty of people who find their way to me would not describe themselves as spiritual. The body doesn't care what label you put on things. It holds what it holds regardless. If something in you is curious enough to be here, that's enough.
-
Māori are the tangata whenua — the indigenous people of Aotearoa New Zealand. My practice is grounded in Māori knowledge, values and ways of understanding health and healing. You don't need to know anything about Māori culture to work with me. If you’re curious, I’m always happy to share.
-
No. Kawakawa doesn't check your whakapapa (ancestral lineage) before she works. Te Rau Aroha is a tāonga of healing and I'd love for more people, regardless of background, to receive it. Many of the people I've sat with for this session are non-Maori. Her work is for anyone who is ready.
-
No. Full stop. The people who find their way to me come from all over the world and all walks of life. What matters is that you're ready to show up honestly.
-
Yes, all of the above. Anyone who is ready to do the mahi is welcome here.
-
All ages. Sessions with children and teenagers look and sound a little different — they're adapted to what's appropriate for where that person is at. Get in touch if you'd like to talk through what that might look like for your child.

Abso-freaking-lutely.
